2020 in books!

I read a little less than 2019 but I had an interesting.

As you can see from the picture, I loved most of the books I read and I can’t do a short list of my preferred list, it would be too difficult! So, I decided to write a little about the books I was more connected.

I read mostly fiction, but I enjoyed a few nonfiction books; I really loved Elie Wiesel All rivers run to the sea, reading about his life was a big help for me during this year so unpredictable and stressful, another non-fiction book that I found interesting and eye-opener was Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson. I started also reading President Barack Obama A Promise Land memoir, but I didn’t finish yet (I am almost halfway).

I discovered Charles Lenox Mysteries by Charles Finch, I like the Victorian Age description and the main character is very likeable. Another discover was Sulari Gentill, I think her book After She Wrote Him is a real gem, and a fascinating mystery, very unconventional.

I read a couple of books about Artemisia Gentileschi, I have to say I liked better Blood, water, paint but what I liked the most about them was that I ended up looking for Artemisia paintings I learned a little about her works.

I want to mention two books quite different: Dear Edward by Ann Napolitano and Broken People by Sam Lansky.

Finally, at the beginning of 2020 I set a book challenge: I wanted to read 48 books with a series of “rules” of my choice, I was inspired by other challenges I saw on a Facebook reading group. I tried to complete the challenge but, at the certain point I realized that I was stretching a little too much my rules and I didn’t enjoy so much to read a book just because I had to complete a challenge.

For 2021 I hope to continue to enjoy reading and to finish 52 books!
